The State Alliance of Missouri YMCAs are in the planning stages in identifying a statewide initiative that will use the platform of Activate America to engage the 25 corporate Missouri YMCA Associations with legislators, local hospitals, school districts and other institutions across the state.  The thrust and focus of the initiative that will address the state’s childhood obesity issue through a variety of programs already offered in local YMCAs, activities and services.  Instrumental to the initiative’s success will be a potential partnership with one of the State’s health care providers.  A task force will be formed to work closely with the lobbyist to develop a program which will compliment the key interests of the Governor’s office and targeted members of the legislature.
